Rochester Falls Access
Camping, Fishing, Platte River Access
Rochester Falls Access, tucked along the Platte River just outside Savannah, Missouri, is one of those quiet places you almost don’t want to tell anyone about. This 14-acre conservation spot features a series of limestone ledges where the river gently spills into shallow pools—especially stunning after a good rain. It’s a great place to toss in a line for catfish or carp, go rock hunting, or just sit back and watch for deer, raccoons, and the many birds that pass through. The sound of the water alone is worth the trip.
If you’re looking to stay awhile, there are about 11 primitive campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis. No running water or showers here—just vault toilets, fire rings, and a whole lot of peace and quiet. You can camp up to 14 days out of any 30, and it’s open year-round. Just come prepared, especially in cooler months or after rain when the river’s a bit higher. It’s simple, scenic, and perfectly off the radar.
